4 Outdoor Movie Theater Accounts on Instagram for Inspiration

1- Rooftop Cinema Club

Be first to hear about ticket launches, special events and insider deals in New York City, Chicago, Miami, Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles and San Diego. 20 new Rooftop venues and many exciting cinematic events including drive-Ins and open-air screenings await you here.

A recent blog post about drive-ins by the Rooftop Cinema Club team reads, "This great American invention dwindled fast, and with just over 300 now left in the United States, it looked as though it was becoming a beautiful relic that was fading into obscurity. That is until now…"

In 2020 when the world shut down, they brought our drive-in experience back to provide relief during a difficult year in Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Tampa.

In 2015, this team of outdoor movie professionals opened the doors of their first U.S. Rooftop Cinema at Yotel, just up from Times Square. The next couple of years saw the arrival of new venues at LEVEL in Downtown Los Angeles, the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, a brand-new Hollywood venue at NeueHouse screening directly onto the historic CBS building.

2- Street Food Cinema

This is the team behind LA’s largest outdoor cinema and music series. Looking into their 12th outdoor season, most Street Food Cinema locations feature a full bar and offer a dog-friendly atmosphere, audience games, live music and much more.

A preferred partner for movie studios and entertainment platforms to engage fans, 50 events are lined up for the 2023 season, starting April 29th.

3- Melrose Rooftop Theatre

West Hollywood’s arguably best rooftop theatre shows cult classics and new releases, under the summer stars looking out upon the iconic skyline of the Hollywood Hills. VIP packages available. Their private screenings are movie parties for up to 100 guests with a movie selection of your own.

The Melrose Rooftop Theatre team have transformed the adjoining L.P. Rooftop carpark into a premiere theatre experience. It features a state-of-the-art Da-Lite 16’ x 9’ screen and VIP plush bean-bag seating. To ensure the best sound, each rooftop cinema guest takes in the experience with a set of wireless headphones.

4- Special Events Network

Founded in 1991, this Atlanta-based event producer delivers fully entertaining movie nights to everyone -- from school systems, city governments, country clubs and corporates, to university systems and radio stations.

Special Events Network produces outdoor movie events 100 times per year, spring through fall.
